Dr. Phillips has more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical product development and commercialization, including drug delivery systems. Like many of the senior management of Verus, Dr. Phillips worked for Dura Pharmaceuticals and Elan Corporation. At Dura, she spent the majority of her time managing the entire CMC-related portion of the joint venture with Eli Lilly for the development of an inhaled insulin product.

Prior to joining Verus, Dr. Phillips was a Partner at ProPharmaCon, LLC, a product development and regulatory consulting company for clients with pharmaceutical products in every stage of the development cycle. She also worked for many years at Hoffman-LaRoche, where her responsibilities ranged from pre-formulation activities to aerosol formulation development, solid state characterization and package development.

Dr. Phillips earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Virginia Commonwealth University, a B.SC. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and performed post-doctoral studies in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Kansas. She has published numerous research articles on the study of crystal growth, aerosol delivery, controlled release and pharmaceutical applications of super critical fluids.
